Overpass query example

Fixme notes

Find everything mappers flagged for review with a fixme tag. Example: Luxembourg.

Mappers leave fixme (or FIXME) tags where something needs checking. A key regular expression with the i flag finds both spellings.

The query

[out:json][timeout:60];
area["ISO3166-1"="LU"][admin_level=2]->.lu;
nwr[~"^fixme$"~".",i](area.lu);
out center;

Run it

Running the query…

Live result from overpass.ch, cached for up to 12 hours. Map data © OpenStreetMap contributors (ODbL).

How it works

  1. [~"^fixme$"~".",i] is a filter on keys: any key matching fixme, any value, case-insensitive.
  2. The fixme text explains what needs checking; it is shown in the result table below.

Variations

  • Similar tags: note (permanent remarks for mappers) and check_date (when a feature was last verified).

Run it from your code

curl https://api.overpass.ch/v1/YOUR_API_KEY/interpreter \
  --data-urlencode 'data@query.overpassql'

Save the query as query.overpassql. It works the same in Overpass Turbo, QGIS and JOSM.
