International airports worldwide

Queries without any location filter search the whole planet. That's fine for rare tags, which Overpass finds quickly through its tag index.

How it works

1. aeroway=aerodrome is any airport or airfield. aerodrome=international narrows it down.
2. The iata and icao tags hold the airport codes.

Variations

• All airports with an IATA code: ["iata"] instead of ["aerodrome"="international"] (much bigger result).
• Worldwide queries for common tags (shops, trees) are slow. Restrict them to an area.
